FreeFrame vs Frame.io
The difference is the model, not the number. Frame.io charges $15 / user / month. FreeFrame charges $5/month for 100 GB and never counts people on a paid plan.
Free workspaces here are capped at 5 members. Every paid plan lifts that cap entirely.
Frame.io pricing and plan limits checked 7 September 2026, against Frame.io's own pricing page.
The seat cap changes the maths
Frame.io Pro tops out at 5 seats, so that is the largest team it can even price: 5 × $15 is $75 a month. FreeFrame charges $5 a month for that same team, or one ten times the size, because the price follows the storage rather than the headcount. A reviewer joining through a share link has never needed an account here, let alone a seat.
Where Frame.io is ahead
Storage, plainly: Frame.io Pro bundles 2 TB + 2 TB per member for those 5 seats, so a team within that plan gets far more room than our 1 TB ceiling. If your library is measured in terabytes and your team fits their cap, their bundle is the better value. If you need more than a terabyte here, talk to us.
And you can just run it
FreeFrame is open source. Self-host it and it costs nothing, forever: the hosted plans exist because not everyone wants to run infrastructure, not because the software is paywalled.
